We awoke to below freezing temperatures this morning. BRRRR. We ate toast for breakfast so we would not have any dirty dishes. We got the inside of the motorhome ready for travel, closed the slide out and disconnected the hoses, etc. We got the truck connected on the tow bar without any problems and we left the campground. A quick stop for gas and on the road we went. A long day ahead of us.
We traveled through SD, NE, and into CO. Part of the trip was on US 63, which is also labeled as Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway. We saw lots and lots of cows and corn fields. We traveled through the Rosebud Reservation and arrived in Sterling just before sunset. We finally saw a herd of sheep and a few horses. The roads to through many miles of rolling hills with the occasional herd of cows and nothing else. No houses in sight. We got settled in our parking spot at the Landing campground. It’s right in the middle of the town of Sterling. Along the way we crossed the Missouri River on the Francis Case Bridge. Quite a sight to look at the lake at that part of the river. Debbie cooked supper and we headed to bed.
