On Monday afternoon of the 8th, Brian and I went for pedicures.  This was my first pedicure, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  But it was relaxing to sit there and have someone else take care of me for a while. Hopefully, I wasn’t too ticklish as the technician rubbed the bottom of my feet. Now I know what to expect if I ever get one again.

We also drove over to Pine Top/Lakeside to look at another laundromat.  It’s quite a bit further than the one that we have been going to, but it is much larger and seems to have some more seating.  Small tables with bench seats on all four sides.  We may try this new one the next time we need to do laundry even though it is much further away.  The one that we have been using is very cramped and has seating for only five people so we sat in the car while waiting for the washers to complete their cycles.  When we did laundry on Tuesday, almost all the machines were in use, and several were not working.

Tuesday evening was the first night of square dance lessons in Show Low.  Brian wore his special t-shirt from Sandy.

There were five squares dancing during the lessons.  Several club members were on hand to fill out the squares as needed and to help the new students as they learned the calls. Brian had the dancers laughing with his jokes and they learned the steps easily.  We hope they will return on Thursday for the next lesson. One of the couples was originally from Minnesota and recognized us. Al and Shirley Peterson danced with the Westonka Whirlers at one time.  Also, a dancer from Yuma who spends the summer in Show Low, Jan, attended the dance that evening

Since we don’t have to be at the dance hall on Wednesday, we decided to take a drive to Globe, AZ. We went through a couple of mountain ranges along the way. We thought we were going to find a location named “Little Grand Canyon”, but we couldn’t find it. We did see several mountain views along the way to Globe.

Here’s a look at the road map of the highway we followed from the truck’s GPS. Not very straight and several drop-off along the way.

We stopped at a rest stop along the way at the Salt River Canyon.

We ate lunch in Globe at the La Luz Del Dia restaurant. When we parked to go to lunch, I saw this sign on a building.

Not sure if it’s true or not. Otherwise, we didn’t do any shopping in Globe. Too bad, it looked like there was a quilt/fabric shop in town. Or at least there was one at one time. On the way back, we stopped at an overlook and Brian took a couple of pictures from the overlook.
