We “slept in” until about 7:30 this morning. Ate breakfast at the hotel and packed things up again. We left the hotel about 8:30 since we had a short six hour drive today. Along the way, we saw a highway sign that said “Canada – 12”. I knew we were going north, but I didn’t think we were going that far north. On a hillside, there was a metal figure of a cowboy roping a steer, probably on a ranch up the road. Not much landscape to write about, pretty bland and boring. We did see a billboard advertising a restaurant that indicated that they had “Newly Remodeled Bathrooms”. We wondered how old the billboard was. Along the way, Brian called friends Steve and Sandy Townsend, and we arranged to meet for supper. We ended up at the restaurant next door. We have eaten at that restaurant in the past, and it seems that the dinner comes even before we order it. The food is great at Guadalajara’s Mexican Restaurant and would recommend it to anyone passing through Ankeny.
