We didn’t stay long in Bloomington because Debbie had a crafting weekend up in Aitken, MN. We packed our clothes, Debbie’s crafting projects and some food into the Bronco and headed north. We arrived at Whitewood Resort and put Debbie’s supplies in the crafting cabin while Brian unloaded our things into our cabin for the weekend. Jeanine, Kim, Lisa, and Bev were already there and busily working. Debbie was able to get several table runners sewn and three microwave baked potato bags completed. Myrna came later that afternoon and got working on her projects.
We’re back at the motor home now for the next five weeks, not counting the dance dates of Brian, This week we head to Staples, MN to call for Wadena Whirlaways on Thursday and Rochester MN on Saturday to call for Century Squares. We’ve been running errands these last couple of days. On Tuesday, we tried to track down a package of our mail that got sent to a non-existing address. Along the way from looking for the address to the post office, we drove past our old house and saw a couple neighbors out in their yard. We stopped and talked with them for about one-half an hour and got caught up with the neighborhood news.
On Thursday the 8th, Brian and I drove up to Staples for a dance with Wadena Whirlaways that evening. The fall colors were just starting to peek out, and it was hard to keep our eyes on the road. We checked into the hotel when we arrived and took a short nap before we each took a shower. The hotel room had a walk-in shower with much more room than the shower in our motor home! We drove back into Wadena for supper at Brick’s Restaurant. We have been eating there for several years now whenever Brian calls for their club. Their new dance location is in the Lakewood Care Center. It has a nice tile floor, and they set up a treat table in the hallway. Several residents stayed to watch the dancing. Then back to the hotel for some rest before heading back to Bloomington.

Friday night Brian wanted to have supper at the local Applebee’s. He thought he could get a gift certificate from his Upside savings. But it didn’t come right away. We went there anyways. After supper we stopped to look at the cars in the parking lot. There is a group of car owners to come out on Friday nights to show off their fancy cars and to converse with each other. We saw Debbie’s stepsister and her husband. I had been trying to reach her to confirm our supper date on the 11th. Now I could confirm our supper date in person, and we got to see the car he was working on.
Saturday afternoon we were in Rochester, MN for the dance with Century Squares. This is another club that Brian has been calling at for several years. Again, it was good to see several square-dancing friends since we had been gone over the summer. Brian played a couple of round dances for them in addition to doing some Plus level dancing. They sat down for treats after the dance, so we got to talk with several dancers. We went out for supper with fellow dancer Pam who came over to the dance after working that day.

Sunday morning, we ushered at our home church with Debbie’s sister, Toni and fellow parishioner Arden. There was a baptism that morning, so we got to welcome a little one into the congregation. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home so now our fridge and cupboard are full. Almost too full, but we got everything put away. After getting the groceries put away, Brian started opening the mail that we had sent to us from our address in South Dakota. Brian got a notice from the county in South Dakota that he has been selected for jury duty for a Grand Jury stint. And I received an unexpected Cologuard kit from the insurance company. Not sure who had the worse bit of mail! Brian’s notice had a sheet attached to get out of the jury duty since we are full-time RV’ers. I’m not sure if I can get out of my test as easily as Brian can get out of his situation.
